UK Status Resident. Local S,C. Montgomeryshire Status A scarce and local species restricted to the south and east of the county. Just 5 records existed prior to 1977 until found at Llwynderw in 2021. Wingspan : M & F, 33-36mm. Confusion species Poplar Lutestring. |

  Habitat Mature broadleaf woodland. Foodplant Oak. Lifestage data Overwinters as an egg attached to a twig of the foodplant. Larva April or early May-early July which hide in spun leaves during the day. Pupates in a cocoon formed in the leaves on the tree. |
